The Core Centre

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a pelvic health physiotherapist?

Pelvic health physiotherapists have extra training to be able to assess, diagnose and manage conditions of the pelvis, both internally and externally. They are trained to be able to assess vaginally and/or rectally in order to establish accurate diagnosis and management.

Can I attend when I have my period?

Yes. We are still able to carry out our usual assessment if you feel comfortable, however even without an internal examination, we are still able to carry out treatment.

Can I bring my child?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your baby or child if they are unable to be left with someone else. People often feel more relaxed and are able to get the most out of their session when attending on their own. You are more than welcome to bring a support person.

Where do I park?

We recommend allowing plenty of time to find a park. There is a 120 minute DCC carpark behind our building, at Rankeilor street.

Is your clinic pram and wheelchair accessible?

It sure is. We are located on level one of 160 King Edward street and have a lift that easily fits prams and wheelchairs.
